Micheal Coburn is an enthusiastic and experienced piano teacher and adjudicator who is joining the Maritime Conservatory staff this fall.
He aims to foster self-confidence and musical artistry in his students through a unique understanding of how to play.
Michael’s students quickly learn that the most important part of the body for playing piano isn’t the fingers or the hands, it is the mind. Age appropriate explanations of how the mind works quickly lead to more productive practice strategies, more confidence which leads to more fun, and more control which leads to more profound self-expression.
Michael enjoys using these tools to creatively search for solutions and celebrate his students successes.
Michael is accepting new students of all ages and abilities in September.
