Every child can be good at math. Join in my excitement over JUMP Math. It is an elegant curriculum that works towards mastery. I have homeschooled grades 2-7 using this curriculum, and it is a marvel, developmental and evidence-based in the science of learning. I also draw upon JUMP for my tutoring students whom struggle in math.

Hello folks! Do you or someone in your life have a print disability? Print disabilities include conditions such as dyslexia. If so, you or that person are eligible for CELA and Bookshare services! For free! That means access to thousands of book titles that can be downloaded as audio or audio-text books and played through apps such as the free Easy Dolphin Reader or the paid app Voice Dream Reader. In the apps, book can be fully adjusted to meet the needs of the reader: text and background colour, highlight colour, voice and reading speed, can all be modified. You can read along with the app, with highlighted text and audio.

What kind of books? Well, I tried out the search engine, and every book that me or my children have been reading this year showed up! That’s adult or youth or children books! Seriously amazing! You would be hard pressed to NOT find the book you are looking for! Bookshare offers 1 000 000 titles.

How does this work? Your public library can help you to register for CELA. For example, you can register for CELA through the Halifax Public Library. You must provide proof of diagnosis and the account cannot be shared, even amongst family members. Once you are registered with CELA (the Canadian service), you can then register with Bookshare for free (the American service). Bookshare has even more titles available, and both services can be searched in the same search engine.

Wow, this is a fabulous game, and currently the top favourite with our children in grades four and six.
