Fleming College - Haliburton School of Art + Design We're known for providing unique and flexible programs in art, craft, design, media and heritage. Both diplomas include one of the certificates above.

In this striking setting you will find a campus that serves the arts, the environment and the local community. HSAD is well-known for its 15-week intensive, in-studio certificates, its visual arts and design diplomas and its extensive summer programming. The dramatic architecture of wood, glass and steel lets artists create their work in natural light. Certificates offered are: Artist Blacksmith, Ceramics, Fibre Arts, Photo Arts, Jewellery Essentials, Glassblowing, Drawing and Painting, Digital Image Design, Moving Image Design, and Sculpture. We also offer two diplomas; Integrated Design diploma and a diploma in Visual and Creative Arts. The campus is also home to environmental education, such as the unique Sustainable Building Design and Construction program, which provides the students with a hands-on opportunity to build a community structure from the ground up using sustainable materials and methods. Haliburton's local community draws on the campus for a wide-ranging variety of continuing education courses as well as academic upgrading.

More than a functioning entrance, they are a work of art created by renowned sculptor and designer Gord Peteran.
Join Peteran, for an informative and engaging talk as he shares the inspiration, symbolism, and creative process behind the creation of these distinctive doors, offering unique insight into one of the schools most recognizable landmarks.

Join your instructor Sandi Luck for this week long Fibre Art course on Slow Stitch & Embellished Garment!

Learn how to add couching, reverse applique, ruched applique, french knots, and other embroidery stitches!

About your instructor:

Sandi Luck's formal education includes a Diploma of Fine Arts, BA (Psychology), Textile Surface Design, Interior Design and Sustainable Building Design certificates.

She worked for many years in architectural and graphic design and, more recently, was a founding member of The Art Hive Maple Lake Artisans Collective.

Sandi is currently working with wearable's that incorporate multiple layers of vibrant colour and hand embellishment and exploring the wonderful world of nuno felt. She is a featured artist in the books World Wide Colours of Felt published in the Netherlands and The Artists of Algonquin.
