ENROLLMENT NOTICE: Due to increased demand, we will be cancelling our Spring open house June 10th and 11th, as we will only have three spaces available for September 2023, which are all likely to be filled by the waitlist. With our current waitlist, we are expected to be full until September 2024. We're sorry for the inconvenience, and wish you the best of luck in your search for childcare.

Waitlist applications will only be accepted through email to [email protected]. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE CENTRE TO CHECK AVAILABILITY, we are at capacity and answering the phone takes time away from the kiddos who are here. Waitlist requests sent to facebook or left on the voicemail will not be accepted.

Again, due to the increased demand, we will be adapting our policy to allow expecting parents to add their child. For this method, please email [email protected] initially when expecting, and then email again to the same thread when your child is born and you have the name and birthdate. If you complete this process, then the child's waitlist entry will be added at that point but with the entry date of the first email.

The CWELCCA has created an overwhelming demand for spaces, so while we understand it is disappointing and frustrating for parents, please know that we will continue to do our best to ensure equitable access to childcare whenever spaces do come available. As a small centre (26 spaces total), we have very few openings per year, so at the current size of the waitlist, it is likely that most people will not receive a space at our centre by the time their child goes to kindergarten. We recommend continuing your search, and adding your child to as many local waitlists as possible, particularly at larger centres who may have a higher turnover..

Looking for a full time RECE to be head teacher in our toddler program. 40 hours per week, can be rotating schedule or straight day shift (6:30 am to 3 pm or 9 am to 5:30 pm).

The successful applicant will be in charge of planning and implementation of an educational program environment for children aged 12 months to 5 years old. Will work in a team with other RECE and assistants to cover ratios in a small school with two classrooms.

Must have:
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certificate
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sectors check less than 6 months old.
Current Registration with the College of ECE

COVID safety:
All staff and children are screened prior to entrance to the centre.
All staff must wear a medical mask and eye protection (masks and face shields are provided but you can bring your own safety glasses if you prefer, they are more comfortable).
Parents do not come in the centre. Staff are encouraged to stay 6 feet apart from each other.
We are a small centre, which helps to reduce total contacts.

Sorting Success!
This little one spent several minutes playing with our sorting bears. At first, he enjoyed playing with the bears moving them around on the mirror. Next, he decided to sort the bears by their colour! Great work!

This toddler friend found such a creative way to use this magnet toy on the trampoline! We enjoyed sticking the pieces together and seeing how heavy they had to get before they fell off (with big giggles each time a piece fell of course!)

This little one had pushed the wheelbarrow over to the fence and put it down. He ran to the garden where our painted rocks were. One by one he would bring them back and put them in. After he collected 3, he picked it up by the handles and pushed it around. He was extremely proud of himself!

Fall time is our favourite time! These children were super excited about the leaves falling off the trees and onto the ground. They would pick a leaf and hold it up to the tree as if they knew where they had fallen from!

The weather outside seems to not know it's autumn, but we know the greenery can't last forever. At Jack and Jill's we're bringing the garden inside! This little one is helping plant new decorations to brighten up our Toddler room.

With small class sizes and only two classrooms, we offer reduced contacts and less worry. Our Toddler class is very small, only one friend comes! For now, she enjoys playing with the big kids, but also pretend cooking or playing with the bead maze by herself.

We'd love for more toddler aged friends to join her! We have a teacher waiting to start our toddler only program room. They have their own dedicated space, teachers, and fully fenced in toddler yard for distancing and cohorting! I've included some photos of the toddler spaces (currently empty and waiting for new friends!).

We read The Big Smelly Bear! The kiddos really enjoyed it and laughed a lot (but I thought the other animals were a little rude! Poor bear!). We commented that it's good to keep our OWN bodies clean, but be respectful to not comment on OTHER people's bodies. Other people's (or bear's) bodies are their own responsibility.

We've been working on lots of handwashing, avoiding touching our faces, and trying to wear our masks properly. It can be hard for little ones to remember not to touch our faces, so we're doing lots of gentle reminders. Each child has their own mask they've decorated if they forget theirs from home, or if they need an extra during the day.
