Welcome to the Guelph History Society's page! If you're looking for history events and information at the University of Guelph... Here we are!
Hi everyone,
I hope you all have been able to acclimate well to your online coursework these last two weeks. I know this working from home can be challenging to many of us, myself included. I suppose I just want to let you all know that you're not alone in this time, and if you're struggling and need help don't feel afraid to reach out. If you need help with coursework, want someone to look over a paper, or if you're having problems with your mental health or anything I gladly offer my help, for however much it may mean.
Feel free to message me here, or on my personal account, I'll even give you my phone number if you want it. I just want to see all of us come through okay on the other side of this. I hope I can see you all again come next fall or whenever we're allowed to go back to campus safe.
I'm pulling for you, we're all in this together.
Jakob
Hey folks,
I know this is a rough time for everyone, and I hope you all are doing all right. I imagine you, much like myself, am uncertain about the prospects for the upcoming fall semester in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have been informed by the history department that it is significantly likely all classes that can be taught online, will be, barring a handful of classes offered on campus (most likely courses involving labs and the like).
You may, like myself, be frustrated by the lack of transparency from the university. Thus, I have been in contact with the history department about what the future will portend for us students next scholastic year. So, if you or fellow students, history or non-history, have concerns or questions regarding the fall semester feel free to post them here or message the page itself, and I will forward these concerns and questions to the history department and return with the answers I am given. The History Department at Guelph genuinely does care for their students, and will do all they can to assuage our worries at this time.
Stay safe everybody, I look forward to seeing you all again on campus.
Jakob
