What does the future of learning look like? On June 9th and 13th, we got a glimpse.
School District 35 (Langley, BC) partnered with the Career Education Council for the Develop the Future Showcase - a celebration of coding, creativity, and what is possible when students are given the tools and the belief that they can build something real.
From a packed room of over 220 inspired learners to students deep in focus on their iPads, the energy in the room was something else. The Develop the Future Cycle was on full display: Design, Build, Assemble, Launch, Evolve.
These are not just lessons in coding. They are lessons in problem-solving, persistence, and possibility.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this event happen; educators, organizers, parents, the Langley Events Centre, and most importantly, the students who showed up and showed out.

What an incredible day at the Pride Job Fair! 🌈
On June 11, 2026, the Pride Job Fair was held at The Red Brick Cafe in downtown Guelph; and the turnout and energy in the room said it all.
75 job seekers. 15 exhibitors. One afternoon dedicated to employment, inclusion, and community connection.
Organized by Second Chance Employment Counselling and proudly supported by the Career Education Council as a key community partner, the event brought together members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies with employers, employment service providers, and community organizations committed to fostering diverse and inclusive workplaces.
Attendees had the opportunity to explore current job openings, learn about career pathways and workplace culture, expand their professional networks, and connect with organizations that are genuinely committed to inclusive hiring practices.
The strong attendance and meaningful engagement from both job seekers and exhibitors was a powerful reminder of what is possible when community partners come together with a shared purpose.
A heartfelt thank you to every exhibitor, attendee, volunteer, and community partner who contributed to making this event such a success. And a special thank you to Second Chance Employment Counselling for organizing such a meaningful and impactful event.
We are proud to support inclusive workforce development in the Guelph community and look forward to continuing this important work together.
