This one has been coming up at chapter meetings lately. Anyone else coming out of the summer fog wondering if they should burn everything down? 😅
New offer! New strategy! New direction!
Maybe reconsider the entire business while we're at it!
🛑Before you do any of that...
You might just need to recalibrate.
Summer throws routines off: vacations, shorter weeks, kids home (!) clients away, beautiful weather calling your name. Most of us are wondering lost by the end of August.
It doesn't mean something is wrong with your business.
You may just need to realign with where you were going before summer scrambled your brain.
So before you reinvent anything, grab a coffee and answer these three questions:
1. What am I trying to accomplish between now and the end of the year?
2. What worked during my best months that I need to get consistent with again?
3. What has crept onto my plate that isn't helping me get where I want to go?
THEN pick your next move.
You might just need to remember the plan you already had and not waste the dog days of summer making a whole new one.

We're just a few weeks away from Pitch for Purpose, and once again, our Power Connects community is showing up in a big way.
For the second year in a row, RLB is our Lunch Sponsor AND they're putting a team in the competition!
That's exactly what this event is about! Businesses getting involved, having some fun, and coming together to support an important cause.
Our team spots are officially full but there are still ways to be part of Pitch for Purpose through sponsorship, spreading the word, and supporting this year's charity, The Grove Wellington Guelph.
A huge thank you to RLB for stepping up again this year and helping us make September 16th a great day for our business community and our community at large.

One of the best parts of Power Connects is hearing what's really going on behind the scenes.
Recently, a member shared that they'd been waiting for the "perfect" time to reach out to a potential client. They didn't want to blow the shot!
But the room had a different perspective.
What if the perfect time isn't something you wait for...
What if it's something you create? 🤯
Sometimes the biggest breakthrough in business comes from that one conversation that changes how you think.
That's the power of sitting around the *right* table.

Not every business problem is a marketing problem.
Sometimes it's pricing. Or clarity. Or trying to serve everyone instead of the right people.
And sometimes... It's simply that you've been too busy working in the business to stop and ask better questions.
Before you jump to the next shiny thing, ask yourself what the real problem is that you're trying to solve with that tactic/idea/shiny thing.
The answer might be just the thing you need to focus on.

Sure, Pitch for Purpose is friendly competition and fundraising.
But we're also bringing business owners together to support something bigger than ourselves.
We're proud to be supporting The Grove Wellington-Guelph, a local organization creating safe, welcoming spaces for youth ages 12–25.
When local businesses come together with a shared purpose, incredible things happen.
Every sponsor, every volunteer and every donation all adds up!
Thank you to everyone helping make this year's Pitch for Purpose possible.

Most networking events are about collecting contacts.
But we're more interested in helping you become known.
Known for what you do.
Known for how you show up.
Known as someone people trust enough to recommend.
Typically, referrals happen after people have seen you consistently. They've watched you support others. They've heard your story more than once. They've come to understand not just what you do, but who you are.
That's our difference and it's the difference between networking and belonging.
Belonging creates relationships and relationships create referrals.
And that's what we're building around the Power Connects table every month. Join us! Send a DM to get the details about attending a meeting as a guest.

Busy isn't a business strategy.
It's surprisingly easy to fill every hour of your week responding to emails, putting out fires, attending meetings and checking things off your to-do list.
But ask yourself this: What did you do today that will still matter six months from now?
The business owners who create long-term growth don't just work in their business. They intentionally make time to work ON it.
This week, block off one hour to think like the CEO.
Not a salesperson.
Not a bookkeeper.
Not a customer service rep.
The CEO.
Your future business will thank you.

Networking can be exhausting.
Walk into a room ➡️ Collect business cards ➡️ Give your elevator pitch ➡️ Hope someone remembers you.🙏
But people don't refer businesses they met one time over cubes of sweaty cheese!
They refer people they know and trust.
That's why Power Connects isn't built around seeing how many people you can meet in an hour.
It's built around showing up consistently with the same group of business owners, building genuine relationships, and becoming someone people know, like and trust.
We're all about creating a place where you belong and the referrals come later.

You're probably doing something today that someone else could do 80% as well as you.
And you're hanging onto it because you can do it better.
Of course you can!
The better question is... should you?
Every task you refuse to let go of is stealing time from the work only you can do.
