The Late Add Period begins on August 19th at Midnight. At this time, WebAdvisor will open and you will be able to make changes to your schedule!
The university doesn't issue any emails or notes of confirmation upon receiving payment toward your student account! Keep checking WebAdvisor under "Account Summary," and note that any payment can take up to three days to process. As long as you make your $200 registration payment by August 9th, you are set - the deposit does not need to show up on your account by August 9th due to the three-day transfer/processing time

Athletics update: The Fall 2013 Gryph Guide is now available - check it out at http://www.bluetoad.com/publication/?i=168947. Keep in mind that your student fees enable you to access the gyms/courts, pools, practice rooms, skating rinks, outdoor facilities, and intramural program without paying extra! If you'd like to take any classes or use the cardio/weight room, it's an extra charge per semester. The cardio and weight room is about $32 per semester. You can purchase your membership in person at the Athletic Centre when you arrive on campus - stop by anytime!

START for First Timers | STARTonline.ca The Centre for New Students will be hosting START for First Timers on Friday, August 16th, on campus! This event is for first generation students and their parents/family. A first generation student is anyone whose parents did not attend university.
I've had a few questions about textbooks, so here's a quick update: it's best to wait until the first day of classes to buy. The prof will tell you what you really need, and you can save a lot of money by not buying unnecessary items. However, if you're very keen on buying them now, you can preorder online from the Co-op Bookstore (most books are used, so they'll be cheaper): http://www.guelphcampus.coop/bookstore/first_year_students. You can also check thecannon.ca, Chapters, or Amazon. Booklists will be available here soon: http://www.bookstore.uoguelph.ca/courselistbuilder.aspx.

In order to purchase a meal plan, go to WebAdvisor and click on "Service Selections" from the "Student" menu. Select the size of meal plan that you want and press "Submit". The money is charged to the same account as your tuition and fees, and you pay it in the same way as you would for your tuition and fees. Make sure you do this before September 1st; otherwise, you'll have to contact Hospitality Services to make any changes.

Important Update: Student ID cards are essential for all UofG students! If you submit your photo online three weeks before the first day of classes (Sept 5th), you will receive your student ID card in the mail before you get to campus.
