Where does our name come from?
When the organization was established in 1867, it was originally called I.C. Sorosis. In 1888, we adopted the name Pi Beta Phi. Today, the name Pi Beta Phi represents more than 150 years of sisterhood, leadership, philanthropy, and lifelong friendship!

“When I joined Pi Phi, I never expected it to have the impact on my life that it has. Walking into recruitment that very first day not knowing anybody, I met my family and hadn’t even realized it yet. Being part of Pi Phi has taught me how to step out of my comfort zone and has made me a better sister, leader, friend, and community member. This has translated into so many other parts of my life and has made me a better person overall.
