For all GEOGrads returning to continue Masters and PhD work in the F20 term, a reminder there are two positions open for the GGSS!
This is reduced from the 7 we had during this past year to start the society. Both due to less in-person event planning and minimal on campus coordination, and to adjust based on insights our team learned this past year about how best to manage tasks to support our Hutt community.

If you are interested in either the Outreach/Social Coordinator position, or the Treasurer role, please contact us through social channels, or Jess (19/20 co-chair) via email: [email protected]

Attention all graduate students: the call for abstracts has been extended! The GSA will be hosting the interdepartmental virtual conference on August 26th, 2020 to allow students an opportunity to share their hard work, in spite of the restrictions of COVID-19. Students from any college at the University of Guelph are welcome to participate. Presentations will be 15 minutes in duration, followed by 5-minute Q&A sessions. Additionally, there is an opportunity to present something outside of your research. These non-academic presentations will be conducted in the same format, but on any topic of your choosing! PLUS, we are very pleased to announce that there will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes available! 🏆
.
.
For those of you who are interested, abstracts must be submitted to your college’s representative (see the second page of this advertisement) by July 14th, 2020. Please include your home department in these abstracts. You are also encouraged to mention how COVID-19 has impacted your research, if that’s of interest and applicable to you.

Missed a conference (like CAG or AAG) this summer due to pandemic-mode? This opportunity aims to fill in some of the networking gaps across university departments.

The deadline for abstract submissions is extended until mid July for this Graduate Conference hosted by the GSA at the end of the summer term. Apply now!
