UoG Honey Bee Research Centre
The Honey Bee Research Centre at the University of Guelph has been providing apiculture research and education since 1894.
The University of Guelph has a long history with apiculture dating back to 1894 when the first beekeeping courses were taught at the Ontario Agricultural College. In 1920, an Apiculture building was built on campus at the present site of the University Centre and was the first of its kind in North America for beekeeping studies. In 1966, the apiculture facilities were moved to the current location
