Right now, all auction items are pick-up only in Gretna. We are considering adding a mailing option through Canada Post for smaller items for those who can’t make it here.

MCI Memorabilia Auction -Honouring 135 Years of History

Mennonite Collegiate Institute has been part of the Gretna community for 135 years. Generations of students, staff, and families have shared life here through learning, music, athletics, faith, and friendship.

As MCI now moves through its closure, we are taking care to honour what this school has meant to so many. Over the past months, we have carefully gone through decades of history: yearbooks, photos, trophies, jerseys, cookbooks, and other keepsakes that tell MCI’s story.

Some items will be preserved through the Mennonite Heritage Archives. Others are being shared through our MCI Memorabilia Auction, giving alumni, families, and community members an opportunity to take home something meaningful from MCI’s story.

Nelia, you are a positive force, engaged student, and a natural leader.

You stepped confidently into any role or challenge you faced – including as a stand-in during musical, performing a new role with only one day’s preparation!

You care deeply for others and rely on your faith to carry you, and have inspired many of your fellow students to do the same.

We know you’ll keep shining wherever you go (like in Hawaii for YWAM next year!).

Ernest Voth (Blumenort South, MB)

Big hair, even bigger heart. 😊 Ernie, you always brought energy and enthusiasm to the MCI hallways.

You are a naturally friendly person who made an intentional effort to build community by including others and make them feel seen – especially the younger grades.

We will miss hearing you sing in the hallways (and on stage!), your friendly hellos and your sense of fun.

Lexi Bilodeau (Lac du Bonnet, MB)

Lexi, your love for Jesus is evident! Thank you for your courage in sharing your faith story with the school.

You have a way of drawing others in with your goofiness and you came in clutch with a curling iron for musical and before school events, helping others look their best!

Thank you for always being quick to share a smile, a joke, and what’s on your heart.

We’re so glad that MCI is a part of your story. Congratulations, Lexi!

Finley Wiens (Rosenfeld, MB)

Finley, you impressed us this year with your willingness to step out of your comfort zone and try new things – like join the cast in musical and take on the role of setter on the volleyball court. You crushed both roles, and took it all on with grace and a radiant smile.

We wish you all the best as you continue to step out in faith as you attend bible school in Hawaii next year!

Theodore Enns (La Salle, MB)

Theo, you are a passionate and positive person, with a heart for others and worship.

No one was as invested as you in being a good neighbour to the community of Gretna, organizing card deliveries and singing telegrams on random evenings.

You have a knack for rallying people around you to be active and invested in community life. Keep putting the “Theo” in theology as you head to YWAM!

Dominic Enns (La Salle, MB)

Vice President Dom, you are a thoughtful and encouraging person who is humble and kind to others.

You have a great sense of humor and are quick to laugh and smile, and always have an inspiring or poignant word to share about where your heart is at in your walk with Jesus.

Your dedication to things you choose to prioritize – like your drumming! – pays off and will take you far in life.
