Stay Connected with St. David Catholic School

Edsby is one of the main ways our school office shares important information with St. David families throughout the year.

Families can use Edsby to receive school announcements and reminders, view attendance and report absences, and keep track of school events, activities and important dates.

If you are new to Edsby, download the free app and use scdsb.edsby.com as the server. Please log in using the email address you provided to the school and make sure we have your most current email address on file.

Please note that some classroom teachers also use Edsby, while others may use different methods to communicate with families. Teachers will share their preferred communication method during the first week of school.

We encourage families to check Edsby regularly so you don’t miss important updates from the St. David School office.

Please review the graphic below to be informed about our new dismissal process. We ask that parents do not arrive to pick up their children until 3:00p.m. If you need to pick up your child before the dismissal time, please contact the office. We will dismiss students from the sidewalk area in front of the school only. This means that cars must be single file. All parents are asked to stay in their cars unless they are helping to safely buckle their child. Thank you, and we are excited to see everyone on Tuesday for the first day of school. Students may arrive at school after 8:35a.m. Classes begin at 8:50a.m.

**There has been a change to St. David's morning bell time. Supervision will now begin at 8:35am. Students can not be in the school year before 8:35am. Thank you, and we are excited to welcome back all of our students!

Friendly reminder to all of our families. Our school office is currently closed and will reopen on Monday, August 31st.

Looking to register your child for the 2026–2027 school year?
You can get started by completing the online registration process at www.sudburycatholicschools.ca.

Once the office reopens, a member of our St. David's office team will reach out to you during the week of August 31st to assist with the next steps.

10 years ago, we said goodbye to the “Old St. David School.” September will be the 10th year in the new school. Time truly flies! 🍎📚 (Lots of staff missing from both pictures, but still neat to reflect on the passing of time).⏳

As I close this beautiful chapter and retire as Principal of St. David School, my heart is filled with nothing but gratitude.❤️

For the past 16 years, St. David has been so much more than a school to me—it has been a second home, a place of learning and lots of laughter.

I am truly appreciative of the beautiful farewell that was gifted to me. The blanket ceremony, the student drumming and singing, the joy and celebration that filled the school, and the final walk down the halls surrounded by applause and smiling faces touched my heart in ways I will never forget. It was a gift that I will carry with me always as I begin my next adventure.

To our amazing students, dedicated staff, supportive families, community partners, parish community, and everyone who has been part of this journey—thank you. Every smile, every challenge, every celebration, and every act of kindness helped make these years so meaningful and unforgettable.

Although I look forward to the many wonderful things retirement will bring, a piece of my heart will always remain at St. David. I leave with immense gratitude.

Thank you, St. David School, for 16 amazing years. You truly are the absolute best, and it has been the honour of a lifetime to serve this wonderful community.

We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday September 8th following Labour Day weekend! School yard opens at 8:30 am.

We have compiled a list of items that will be required for September. All students must have a pair of indoor shoes and a water bottle as well as the following:

Grades 1 to 6:
 Full size backpack
 Lunch bag
 Scissors
 Glue sticks
 Coloring pencils/Crayons
 Erasers
 Pencil sharpener
 Ruler (grades 4, 5, 6)
 Highlighters (grades 4, 5, 6)
 Lined Paper (grades 4, 5, 6)
 2 Kleenex boxes

JK & SK students:
 2 Kleenex boxes
 Change of clothes
 Velcro or “no tie” shoes
 Full size backpack
 Lunch bag

At St. David School, we couldn't be more proud of our friend, Precious! 🎉 Precious dreams of becoming a police officer one day, so it was extra special to see him featured on the front cover of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Annual Report alongside our good friend and wonderful supporter, Mel Katulka.

It's inspiring to see young people dreaming big and having caring community members who encourage them every step of the way. Thank you, Mel, for being such a positive role model and for the many ways you support the students of St. David School.

Congratulations, Precious! We know your bright smile, kind heart, and determination will take you far. We can't wait to see where your journey leads! 💙🚔
