This is a great way to become more knowledgeable about business and develop an initial business plan.
Under 30 years old? Identify as a person with lived experience with mental health/addiction challenges? Interested in starting your own business?
Learning Initiative and Rise Asset Development are teaming up to offer a new program called EnterpRISEing Youth+ (aimed at youth under 30, who are interested in starting their own business, and who self-identify as having experienced mental health and/or addiction challenges).
EnterpRISEing Youth+ is a free program, which includes both in-class and online learning components, aimed at preparing students to explore and prepare for self-employment.
Participants are supported in developing their business idea(s) and in creating a business plan – both in class and in the one-on-one coaching sessions provided. The mentorship received, through the one-on-one coaching sessions, are available to assist students in keeping on track with assignments and tasks, as well as with idea generating, problem solving, and dealing with any other issue(s) individuals may happen upon while enrolled in the program.
Upon completing the program, students receive a $300 start-up grant. They will also have a practical and professional business plan, along with skills and tools they’ve acquired through their participation in the EnterpRISEing Youth+ program.
