The Montessori School of Sudbury offers high quality education to children 18 months to 8 years of age within a positive, nurturing and stimulating environment. Our 19,500 square-foot facility contains 6 classrooms, several multi-purpose rooms, and a large gymnasium. In addition, children enjoy 16,000 square feet of outdoor playing area.

One of the most important parts of a Montessori classroom is the prepared environment. ✨📚

In order for self-directed learning to take place, the whole learning environment-room, materials and social climate-must be supportive of the learner. The teacher provides necessary resources, including opportunities for children to function in a safe and positive climate. The teacher thus gains the children’s trust, which enables them to try new things and build self-confidence.

That’s the beauty of the Montessori prepared environment, it doesn’t simply prepare the classroom for the child. It prepares the child for independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. 💙💛

Welcome to Montessori! ⭐️ Today is a very special day as we welcome all of our new students and families to the Montessori School of Sudbury!

Whether your child is taking their very first steps into a Toddler classroom or it is just their first time with Montessori, we are so excited to have you as part of our Montessori community.

The first day can bring a mix of excitement, curiosity, and maybe a few butterflies, and that’s completely okay! 🌱 Our educators are here to help each child feel safe, comfortable, and confident as they begin discovering their new environment. Today allows them to familiarize themselves with the classroom routines and materials and ease the transition into the program.

Here’s to new friendships, new discoveries, and the beginning of a wonderful Montessori journey!💙💛

🎒🌱 A new classroom, new faces, and new routines can feel like a big transition for a young child. In Montessori, we understand that adjustment takes time, and we give children the space and support they need to feel comfortable and confident in their new environment.

The Montessori approach helps ease this transition through a carefully prepared environment, consistent routines, and strong relationships with educators. Children are introduced to their classroom and materials at their own pace, giving them opportunities to explore, make choices, and gradually build a sense of belonging.

At home, you can help by:

🌱 Creating familiar routines with consistent mornings and bedtimes that can help children feel secure.
👋 Keeping goodbyes calm and confident. A warm, predictable goodbye helps build trust.
💛 Talking positively about school. Focus on the friends they'll meet, activities they'll discover, and things they'll learn to do independently.
👐 Encouraging independence. Let them practice putting on their shoes, carrying their belongings, or cleaning up after themselves.

Most importantly, trust your child and trust the process.

☀️💛 What a summer it has been at Montessori! 💛☀️

Our last few weeks of Summer Program were filled with discovery, learning, laughter, and so many adventures! 🌈

Preschool 1 had a blast! From Community Helpers and Tiny Chefs to Safari Adventures, Transportation Week, Camp Montessori, and finally Superhero Academy, every week brought something new to explore! 👮‍♀️🍓🦎🚌🦸‍♀️

We’ve made so many wonderful memories together and had the BEST summer! ✨

It’s the final week of Summer Program, and we’re going out with a SUPER bang! 🦸‍♂️

This week, our Summer Program is transforming into Superhero Academy! 🦸‍♀️✨ The children will enjoy a week filled with heroic adventures, creative activities, sweet treats, dress-up fun, and more.

From DIY superhero masks and pipe cleaner superheroes to Superhero Sundaes, dressing up as their favourite superhero or princess, and wrapping up the week with PJ & Movie Day, it’s going to be an action-packed finale to an amazing summer! 💥🍦🎬

🔭🌿 Adventure Awaits! 🐦☀️

Our Preschool 2 Summer Program explorers made their very own binoculars for Safari Adventure Week! Using paper rolls and colourful stickers, the children designed and customized their binoculars before heading off on an imaginary safari adventure.

They had so much fun looking through their creations, and spying the world around them! 🦋🐿️
