The Sudbury Symphony Orchestra & Sudbury Symphony Music Conservatory are looking for passionate, community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors. With attendance and artistic momentum strong, now is an exciting time to join!
Whether your background is in law, business, governance, fundraising, or community leadership, your perspective can help us build vibrant communities. Previous board experience is welcome, but not required.
Serving on the SSO Board is an opportunity to:

Go Jaden!

Jaden Harrison is a classical guitarist recognized for his work as a soloist. He is a first-prize winner at the OMFA Provincial Classical Guitar Competition (ARCT Division) and a grand prize winner of the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra Emerging Artist Competition, where he was granted the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the orchestra.

He has also earned recognition at numerous festivals and competitions, including the Guitar Foundation of America International Youth Competition—one of the most prestigious guitar competitions in the world—as well as the Sudbury Music Festival, Northern Ontario Music Festival, and pre-concert performances with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra.

Jaden has appeared on television, performed in chamber ensembles ranging from guitar groups to string quartets, and assists in teaching youth guitar through the Sudbury Symphony Conservatory. He began as a self-taught guitarist and has spent over a decade developing his artistry.

This could be your kid’s first step into music 🎸✨

Imagine your child picking up a guitar, learning their first chords, and building confidence through music… 🎶

At the Sudbury Symphony Music Conservatory, our Beginner Guitar Class (Ages 10–12) is designed to make that journey exciting, structured, and fun.

Led by world-class musician Dr Matthew Gould, students will learn:
🎸 Basic chords & strumming
🎶 Fingerpicking techniques
📖 Reading tablature & musical notation

Plus — guitar rental is included, so your child can practice at home and truly grow during the program.

🗓 Saturdays | 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM
📍 Sudbury (YMCA – SSMC Program)
