Dharma can best be explained as conduct that upholds universal natural laws, and when humankind follows these laws, it allows them to be happy and prevent suffering. The acronym "ZDK" stands for Zendokan Dharma Kumiai, meaning "Zen leading to Dharma or the Truth." The three component words of "Zendokan" are Zen, Do, meaning Way, and Kan, meaning place. Kan also, however, means "seeing into the heart of things"; thus, Zendokan can be said to mean "The Zen Way of Direct Knowledge."
