Navigating Puberty for Children with Support Needs: Preparing Caregivers

In this workshop, parents will learn about:
· Sexual health development leading up to puberty: what is expected and what is important to know when
· Skills that can help autistic youth manage puberty changes that aren’t ‘sex-ed specific’
· Important puberty knowledge to have and some ways to help our kids understand
· Important puberty skills to have and some ways to help our kids do them
· And…..have a chance to ask questions!

Looking for a fun way to boost social skills this summer? 🎮 This group, offered through Foundational Family Services, helps kids connect and grow through gameplay. *Free for children with an OAP number! Details below!

For Families Registered with the Ontario Autism Program:
Multiplayer Mode: A Social Gaming Club


This social group is designed for young pre-teens with autism who have an interest in video and board games. Through facilitated gameplay and guided interactions, participants will develop essential social, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The group provides a safe and supportive environment where children can connect with peers, practice teamwork, and learn emotional regulation strategies while engaging in cooperative and interactive video/board game experiences.

Sessions will include structured gaming activities, and social skills teaching, as well as lots of fun! Learning objectives include turn-taking and cooperation, communication, emotion regulation and frustration tolerance, problem-solving and flexible thinking, perspective-taking and social awareness, sportsmanship, and self-advocacy.

This 👏🏻!!!!

Willingness doesn’t mean liking it. It means saying yes to discomfort when it’s in service of something that matters.

Trying to put into words the magic that was ACT Bootcamp for Behaviour Analysts this past week. Four days of intensive training in ACT and RFT with the founder himself, Dr. Steven Hayes.

One of the biggest highlights was finally meeting Dr. Siri Ming in person after a year of working together. Siri has been an incredible coach in helping me sharpen my clinical skills, and it was so special to finally connect face-to-face.

I also loved learning from Dr. DJ Moran, who brought such a valuable leadership lens to the work — something I’m thinking about more and more.

I’ve been integrating ACT and RFT into my practice for a long time, but this experience deepened my roots in the science — and added even more precision to the way we support the families and clients at Flourish.

Can’t wait to keep building from here!
