What a great afternoon for our Terry Fox run! 🇨🇦 🏃‍♂️

Our Hillside Hawks ran, walked, and cheered each other on as we celebrated Terry Fox‘s legacy of courage, hope and perseverance. We are so proud of all our students for participating and helping keep Terry’s dream alive!

Hillside raised $678 for cancer research. Congratulations to Scarlet and Zidaan for winning the Terry Fox t-shirt draw! ❤️

🧡 Orange Shirt Day🧡
This week, our school community, came together to recognize Orange Shirt day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

During our assembly, we took time to listen, learn, reflect, and remember. Through the story “When we Were Alone”, we learned more about the experiences of indigenous children, and the importance of family, culture, language, and identity. Our students also shared the stories of inspiring indigenous youth changemakers, and we learned about the calls to action and the role we can all play in reconciliation.

Thank you to our students and staff for participating with such respect and thoughtfulness. 🧡
