🔍Do these look familiar? Smash & Sons Contracting donated labor and time to remove the red playground.

After the original plan for the equipment’s new home fell through, Greg (Smash & Sons) said he’d repurpose equipment by installing some at Harry Balfour’s “natural” park area! He sent us these photos and we feel so happy for the beloved equipment’s new home!

Thank you to Smash & Sons Contracting and Brandt Tractor - they made the removal possible!

📢It has come to our attention that people are entering the fenced off playground. Although it may appear that the playground equipment and ground covering are complete - it is an active construction site with unsafe areas. It is crucial that individuals do not enter or play on the playground.

⭐️We know there is great excitement and curiosity with the new playground, but please respect the fencing put in place. We will ensure to post when it is open for play.

Did you know? The playground replacement project has a cost of $444,266.85! And that does not include the value of gift in kind services. This total has taken years to fundraise and we are very excited that the new accessible playground is planned to open for the 2026-2027 school year!

☀️Just like that, the school year has come to an end! So many amazing accomplishments and highlights from 2025/2026. Happy summertime, families.

P.S. We will still be here sharing the playground replacement progress over the summer.

1️⃣  day remains of the red playground 😭 Enjoy one last evening before the fencing closes and dismantle begins tomorrow morning. 

2️⃣ days remain if the red playground! 😭 Get your last plays in before it closes on Tuesday evening! Construction begins Wednesday am and it is expected to open in September.

4️⃣ days remain of the Red Playground! It will close on June 23rd evening and be closed for the summer during the removal and install process! We are sad to say goodbye to this 1999 playground. We are also excited for the playground replacement.
