École Montrose students enjoyed a special performance by fiddler Carl Delorme.
Students learned about the important role fiddle music plays in Métis culture and how it helps share traditions and stories across generations. Carl amazed students with his 300-year-old fiddle, a variety of songs, and stories from his travels across Northern Alberta, where he shares his love of music and culture with communities and schools.
Thank you, Carl, for an engaging and memorable experience that brought Métis culture and music to life for our students.

Grade 4 Science!
Our students enjoyed a hands-on learning experience at the Boreal Wetland Centre! Through interactive activities and outdoor exploration, students investigated Alberta’s wetlands and ecosystems while building their understanding of habitats, plant and animal interactions, environmental stewardship, and the importance of conserving natural resources. Experiences like these bring our science curriculum to life and help students make meaningful connections between classroom learning and the world around them!

Today, one of our Grade 8 classes had the opportunity to tour Aquatera’s water treatment and wastewater treatment plants as part of their final science unit on fresh and salt water systems.
Students learned how water from the Wapiti River is treated and transformed into the safe, potable water that flows from our taps, as well as the important processes used to treat wastewater before it is safely returned to the environment.
Our other class visits tomorrow.

What a beautiful day for our Walk-a-Thon!
Students had a great time, and thanks to the incredible support of our school community, we raised funds that will help support student field trips, recess equipment, and extracurricular activities.
A reminder that all pledge forms and donations are due by noon on June 15 to be eligible for prize draws. Every 10 dollars raised earns one draw ticket for our grand prize of a Nintendo Switch 2.
We look forward to celebrating everyone’s efforts at our prize assembly next week. Thank you for your support!

Volunteer Tea!
Yesterday, we took some time to recognize and thank our wonderful parent volunteers. Many of our field trips and school activities would not be possible without your support.
Merci!!
