Our 2nd Annual Summer Showcase was a delightful afternoon! The rain stopped for us and all of our wonderful summer students - along with Ms. Danica and Ms. Jess - filled the air with music. We hope to see the rest of you at our next event! ☀️🎶

Good rainy morning! We will be out rain or shine (forecast is saying hopefully shine 🤞🌦) today for our summer showcase! Make sure to bring your own lawn chair *and maybe umbrella* for an afternoon of music from our students!

For this week's Throwback Thursday, we have our June Student of the Month - Huxley H.! He is 9 years old and has been at the studio since he was around 6. Right now he has been singing Impossible by James Arthur. Collecting gemstones is one thing Huxley loves & he currently likes to wear his tigers eye necklace. Thank you for being part of the TVS family!!!

A note from Ms. Danica: Huxley is one of those students that can't stop singing! He comes into lesson humming, and leaves the same way. He advocates for himself and what he wants to learn and sing, and has excellent taste in music. When he first started with the studio (back in 2022) Huxley would sit and sing along to the songs he had chosen and was often moved to tears by the music. Seeing how much music and singing meant to him, I knew he would be a life-long learner of voice and music. Huxley, you are an incredibly kind and talented kid. Thank you for being part of my teaching journey - and I look forward to many more lessons (and hopefully performances... like festival 👀) in the years to come!

Fun Fact Friday!!!

Did you know that voice lessons are more than just learning to sound like your favorite artist or competing for awards? Singing is a great form of speech therapy, a wonderful confidence booster and a great way to exercise your brain, lungs and whole body! They are for all ages, abilities and backgrounds - music knows no bounds.
Renowned vocal coach Kristin Linklater has been quoted saying: "To free the voice is to free the person."

TBT to a cooler time...when leaves were crunchy 🍂 spices were plentiful & the pumpkins were making their way to the porches. And the TVS Students showed up to the Fall Open Mic to sing in all their Halloween costumed glory! We look forward to seeing you all dressed up again this year 🎃🎶

Welcome to Fun Fact Friday!

Today we want to share a bit about Solfege. Without knowing the name, many of us are slightly familiar with this method because of the song "Do Re Mi" from Sound of Music. It assigns syllables & coordinating hand signs to notes on a scale. This helps students learn by ear, to sight read & to understand the relationship between different pitches.
