🦃🍂 Our annual Junior High Thanksgiving Potluck was a huge success once again!

There’s something pretty special about gathering together, sharing a meal, and building community. A HUGE shoutout to our amazing families who sent in so much delicious food. Everyone definitely left more than full! ❤️

A special thank you to FreshCo, Safeway, No Frills, Blackman Butcher Shop and Beaverlodge Butcher Shop for generously donating the turkeys and gift cards.

Days like today are a great reminder that school is about more than learning; it’s about connection, belonging, and community. We’re so grateful for our St. Catherine family! 🧡🍁

Yesterday in Athletic Development Junior High students learned about game adaptations for people who have physical limitations. We talked about Canadian athletes: Terry Fox (missing a leg due to cancer) and Rick Hansen’s (wheel chair bound due to spinal injury) journeys and how they promoted inclusivity in sport. Later we played an adapted Phys Ed version of soccer called “crab soccer”. Today students will be creating their own games that must include a physical adaptation element.

🧡 Orange Shirt Day | Every Child Matters 🧡

Today, our school community gathered for our Orange Shirt Day assembly in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We were honoured to welcome the Bluebird Dance Troupe, who shared their incredible dancing and culture with our students and staff. We are so grateful for the opportunity to learn together through culture, story and connection.

A heartfelt thank you to Omarla, our District Indigenous Education Program Teacher Lead, and Mellissa, our school’s Indigenous Liaison, for their ongoing guidance and support as we continue on our journey of reconciliation.

We ended the afternoon with a whole-school Round Dance, a beautiful way to connect as a community and close our time together.

We encourage our families to continue the learning and connection by joining the Orange Shirt Day community event tomorrow at Muskoseepi Park. Registration begins at 4:00 p.m., with the walk/run at 5:00 p.m.

Learning numbers to 10 in 1D!

Miss Tobin’s Grade 1 class has been busy exploring numbers to 10 through hands-on learning! Students have been using dice, counters, and cubes to build and represent numbers, while also practicing writing numbers and drawing their own representations.

🧡 Orange Shirt Day 🧡

Tomorrow, we will gather as a school community for our Orange Shirt Day Assembly at 12:35 PM in the gym. Students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt tomorrow as we take time together to learn, reflect, and recognize the importance of Every Child Matters.

We also encourage our families to take part in the Orange Shirt Day 5 KM Walk/Run happening in our community on September 30 at Muskoseepi Park.

This community event is an opportunity to come together in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Families are welcome to walk, run, or simply come out to show their support.

🔴🟠🟡 September 15th was International Dot Day! 🟢🔵🟣

International Dot Day is all about celebrating creativity, courage, and what makes each of us unique.

Our students and staff created their own faces on a dot to represent themselves—and they turned out SO cute! We love seeing all the unique faces that make up our school community. ❤️
