🧡 During our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation activities, students learned about Contemporary Indigenous Youth Changemakers and reflected on their own role in reconciliation.

Inspired by these young leaders, classrooms across the division created commitments to reconciliation, demonstrating that meaningful change begins with learning, respect, and action.

We are proud to share "Our Commitments to Reconciliation" from across our division.

🧡 Orange shirts, powerful conversations, and meaningful learning were taking place across our division as schools recognized Orange Shirt Day.

Students and staff participated in activities that honoured residential school Survivors, celebrated Indigenous resilience, and reinforced the message that Every Child Matters. We are proud of the learning, reflection, and community-building that took place in classrooms and schools throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who helped make these experiences impactful and memorable.

Students from Grande Prairie Composite High School had the opportunity to take part in Hide Camp on September 16, as part of a week-long learning experience hosted in partnership with Peace Wapiti Public School Division, Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools, Grande Prairie Public School Division, and the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre.
Throughout the day, students participated in hands-on learning about the process of preparing a hide, guided by the Hide Camp team from PWSD. They also had opportunities to learn about gardening and traditional plants, connecting learning to culture, land, and traditional knowledge.
We are grateful for this meaningful opportunity for students to learn through experience, relationship, and community.

Are you wondering if your child’s speech or language development is on track? The Grande Prairie Public School Division (GPPSD) is offering screenings for children entering a GPPSD school this fall. These screenings help determine if your child may benefit from early support through our PUF Pre-Kindergarten program—a fun, play-based learning environment designed for children with developmental delays.

Your child may be eligible if they:
• Are 3 or 4 years old (by December 31, 2025)
• Will attend a GPPSD school for Kindergarten
