The Sunshine Valley Childcare Centre is looking for a full time Executive Director to lead our dedicated childcare team in Grand Forks, BC (35 hours per week).

Come work in our well-established and respected community non-profit childcare centre. We serve children 3 months to 5 years in two programs.

The Executive Director will be responsible to the Board of Directors for the implementation of strategic planning, coordination of the major activities of the Society, and for ensuring that supervisors achieve program goals in accordance with provincial regulations and Board philosophy, policies and procedures. The Executive Director will also function as a community voice for the Sunshine Valley Child Care Society promoting public awareness of the organization’s activities and objectives. The Executive Director will actively explore new opportunities for the Society and participate in the proposal, design and implementation of new programs.
This is a fairly complex position wherein the incumbent is required to work in a confidential manner having access to employee files, customer files as well as other confidential information. A major responsibility of the position is to attend to administrative detail and the preparation of documentation required by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director position has a strong financial and management aspect.
Skills:
• IT or ECE designation preferred, but ECEA or relevant experience will be considered.
• Basic bookkeeping skills an asset.
• Computer skills including using Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to use social media sites like Facebook and manage a website is an asset.
• Proven ability to work within a dynamic environment with many stakeholders including community members, staff, children and parents.
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening issued no later than six months preceding your start date
• Three references

The cranberries, tree cuttings & water offered multiple sensory experiences for the children. They put cranberries in the larger containers using either their hands, smaller containers or tongs promoting eye/hand development
