What a year šŸ˜­ Jasper Glenn you are the absolute light of heaven and reason we get up and try again every morning. You have introduced me to the softest and strongest version of me and amaze me every day with your old soul vibes and caring nature. To say you are determined and strong is an understatement. Youā€™ve been through more than many people go through in their whole life in just your first year of life. One third of it spent in the hospital, three surgeries under your belt and more challenges ahead that we know youā€™ll take in stride. Thank you for trusting me to be your mama and choosing me again in this lifetime. I would go through everything weā€™ve been through a thousand times over if it meant bringing you here. āœØ You are my best friend and favourite person. Happy birthday officially!

As I post this, weā€™re back in the hospital šŸ˜­ and will be here on Jasperā€™s first bday, this Thurs the 17th. But weā€™ve already made it through a very challenging, beautiful, awe-inspiring, learning-what-we-are-made-of year so Iā€™m pretty sure thereā€™s not much we canā€™t handle at this point. But weā€™re beyond ready for easier days ahead! Getting Jasperā€™s weight back up then hopefully getting him home for his bday party and an amazing fall šŸ‚ I want him to experience my favourite season outside the hospital, unlike last year. šŸ„¹ Anyway mamas we deserve to celebrate US! This is far far far from easy but weā€™re doing it! šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

In my editors defence šŸ˜… love yall though!! And love that youā€™re also excited for an Indigenous story that is NOT centred around a major trauma or crisis. āœŒšŸ¼

Itā€™s the little acts of reclamation, ya know? šŸ’…

I used to let stop me from painting my nails and have now graduated from ballet slipper šŸ©° pinks to whatever fun or bright or bold colour Iā€™m feeling.

I am probably a loooong way from a pedicure but baby steps right? Because and too.
