Jackie has taught private piano lessons in SK, MB and most recently for the last 17 years in Golden, BC. She received her Bachelor of Music (BMUS) degree majoring in piano performance from Brandon University and has also completed an Associate diploma with the Royal Conservatory of Toronto in piano performance (ARCT). Jackie is a BC Registered Music Teacher and has previously taught the Music for Young Children (MYC) program in Golden for 10 years.

Our studio’s ‘More Fun Than 1’ shows have become my favourite! Each student teams up with friends, family or fellow musicians to create some magic on stage.I love how many parents & family get involved and play music together!

Our studio is in the last 2.5 months of this music year and currently on spring break! Once again we have students preparing for RCM piano exams this spring with some travelling to Calgary for in person exams and some choosing the remote/online exam option. We also have students participating in the East Kootenay Performing Arts festival in Cranbrook next month. Our year end recital will be on Thursday, May 28th at the Civic Centre and all family, friends & supporters of music education are welcome to attend!
It is very special that we have 3 music students graduating from high school this year! THREE students made it through the many "It's hard, I want to quit" moments since beginning their music journey back when they were just 3-6 yrs old. All have taken RCM piano exams in the past (up to Level 8!) but all chose to play for their own enjoyment this last year. Congratulations to our three graduates! I hope music remains a part of your life as you leave Golden to begin your next chapter!
I will not be filling departing students' spots as I continue to find the right balance for right now. I continue to hold a certain number of spots for adults, preschool littles and everyone in between so a space opening up may not be filled by the next in line but from the certain age range I am currently able to accommodate. My family and current students deserve all the best of my energy & time and for that reason, I continue to reduce my teaching hours for the upcoming 2026-2027 music year.
I am very fortunate to have a job that is filled with such amazing music, learning & wonderful students. Thank you to all my amazing music families over the years! This spring marks 17 music teaching years in Golden BC! 🎶

A big congratulations to our studio’s 23 students and the 8 additional musicians who performed last Friday in our collaboration recital! From Nirvana to Disney hits, piano, tuba, flute, clarinet, vocals, guitar & a drum kit, our two 3-year old performers to the adults, every performance was outstanding!!! 👏
Thank you musicians for sharing what the world needs more of 🎶 🎵 🎶 🎵!
