Teamwork makes the dream work! Or something like that. Here’s another project that worked with local contractor .matt on to build a faux beam out of solid walnut for a fireplace mantle. Turned out great!

It’s been a while but we’ve been busy in the shop! Earlier this fall we worked with local contractor .matt to mill up some custom shiplap to trim out a curved archway on this beautiful new home. Great practical experience for ! And look, math! Who knew?!

How much does a wood shop smell like wood when a wood shop cuts real wood?! You just can’t smell this virtually. Good to be back, Vikes!

Our construction classes took on a big project this year to improve our storage space. Mr. Crawford was really hoping to be able to share photos of the finished product but due to the current circumstances that won’t happen this year.
Regardless, our students should be proud of the work they did so far. Our shelving unit now has rolling doors fit with a French cleat tool storage system. All built in-house!
When it’s all said and done, just think of how much fun shop cleanup will be everyday!
Big shoutout to Canadian Trailer Company for donating plywood offcuts which we put to good use making the tool holders. It’s great to have community partners like this.
