My name is Erin Orion and I am the founder of Orion's Way. I have been studying healing modalities for 25 years.

I am a witch, human design specialist, writer, fibre artist, priestess and reiki master with a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Care and Counselling. I specialize in energy hygiene, fibre arts therapy, disability, health, and conscious parenting. I teach workshops and online courses on all aspects of life from spirituality to health to creativity and beyond. I seek to help heal the world through writing, fibre arts, teaching, providing energy healing sessions and using my skills as an intuitive healer to help others to live in deeper alignment with the t(T)ruth of who they are. I have been an advocate for people living with disabilities and less health privilege since the age of 13, when I was diagnosed with childhood cancer. I am a mother to two children who are nuerodiverse and differently abled, one who is also a childhood cancer survivor, and one who is genderq***r. In addition to my other offerings, I provide support to parents and families (and the communities that love them) around navigating (and healing from) the world of medical trauma and/or complex needs through one-on-one sessions and classes. I live, with deep gratitude and conscious reverence, on the land of the Lkwungen People, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations. I honour, also, the ancestors of this land, the hereditary leaders and matriarchs, and all the relations that have lived on this land since time immemorial. To these beings, I say, Hay’sxw’qa si’em (hy-sh-kwa sea-em) "Thank you, respected or honourable one."

There comes a moment — maybe many — when you realize the way you’ve been moving through the world isn’t sustainable. Not because you failed. But because the performance is collapsing.

You might call it burnout. Or maybe it’s the slow ache of living in a body that’s been masking for decades. Maybe you’re late-diagnosed, or circling a new neurodivergent truth. Maybe you’re q***r, disabled, racialized — raised in systems that rewarded assimilation and punished difference. You learned to scan, to fit, to please, to hustle, to caretake, to overachieve. You became the version of yourself that was safest. That kept you employed, included, needed, alive.

But now… something is shifting. The mask is slipping. The capacity you once had for “keeping up” is gone. And underneath the exhaustion is a question that won’t go away: Who am I without the survival script?

This part of the journey is sacred, but it doesn’t feel soft. It feels like grief. Like disorientation. Like not knowing how to get dressed anymore because your body and your identity no longer want to perform the same roles. It feels like you can’t go back — but going forward means becoming someone you haven’t met yet.

This isn’t regression. This is reclamation.

And no, it won’t happen all at once. You’ll wobble between old instincts and new truths. You’ll have days where you can’t speak, can’t show up, can’t explain why you need silence or softness or solitude. And you’ll have days where clarity arrives — not like lightning, but like a slow tide… washing something real to shore.

This is the spiral path of sacred identity work — especially for those of us who’ve spent our lives adapting. It isn’t about declaring a new self overnight. It’s about shedding what was never yours. Listening beneath the noise. And letting your truth take up space — even before it feels ready.

If your name feels strange in your mouth… If your rituals no longer regulate you…
If the mirror feels unfamiliar and the silence feels loud... You are not broken. You are unfolding.

You don’t owe anyone an explanation. You don’t have to rush toward resolution.
You are allowed to linger in the fog. To grieve what kept you safe. To stay sacred even when you don’t feel coherent.

This too is becoming. And you’re allowed to not have the language for it yet.

You don’t need to bounce back. You need to re-pattern.

We’re not meant to live at full speed through collapse. And yet, so many of us are still trying to meet urgent needs — in our families, our communities, our movements — with nervous systems that haven’t had a real exhale in years.

This isn’t a productivity problem. It’s a grief-and-adaptation problem. And what we need now are rhythms that reflect that truth — spiral rhythms, sacred strategies, permission to protect your energy without abandoning your values.

If you’ve been foggy, scattered, numb, or flattened by even simple tasks — this post is for you. Not to fix it. To name it. Because this isn’t burnout in the pop self-help sense. It’s your brain and body adapting to long-haul crisis.

You are not failing because you can’t keep up. You’re responding — wisely, biologically — to a world that keeps asking too much.

When my kid was diagnosed with cancer, we stopped everything. Nothing else mattered. It was sacred. And it was right. But the treatment stretched into years, and life didn’t pause. We still had to move, grieve, work, and parent inside an ongoing crisis. The world kept demanding — and we had to keep surviving.

This post is about what that kind of survival does to your capacity. It’s about why slowing down isn’t weakness — it’s what makes continuing possible. And why the myth of “getting back to normal” is one we have to stop believing in.

Just taught class #3 on Discernment and Deconditioning through the Chakras in the amazing Pull Pen Paint community.

The class included a guided meditation to connect with a younger self, as well as a tarot spread to help guide the way in what the soul is ready to decondition/heal.

Everyone in the class got another instalment of the specifically-created-for-this-class Chakra Conditioning oracle cards to help them connect to some of the conditioned beliefs that might live in each chakra.

Such a good class. So inspiring to see so many people willing to do the deep work of healing themselves, and changing their life through personal transformation.

Feeling well used and grateful.

Our obsession with referring to Chiron as ”the wounded healer” and then interpreting that as it having lessons for us on “how we can heal” misses the entire point of Chiron.

Chiron was not ”the healed healer.” Chiron is the archetype of the healer who has *all the tools* and cannot stop the wound that he gets from bleeding. He’s the Ever-Wounded Healer. His story isn’t about curing/fixing the wound. His story is about learning how to feel/be whole (or die trying) despite the inability to “fix” the wound.

It’s not always possible to cure our wounds, or heal them in a way that makes them go away. Sometimes “healing” is understanding that we are always whole, holy, healed, despite the fact that we ALL have an ever-bleeding wound.

The idea that we must stop the bleeding, fix the wound, “heal” ourselves is a product of cure-culture and is NOT in alignment with true, soul-deep level healing.

Chiron doesn’t teach you where to cure or fix yourself. Chiron teaches you how to know you are whole despite having wounds that will not stop bleeding. Chiron teaches that you are ALWAYS whole. Chiron teaches that you can have ALLLLL the healing tools and still not be able to “fix” everything.

THAT’S the wisdom of the “Ever Wounded Healer.”

All the other versions of Chiron showing you where you “need to heal” (aka fix yourself) is a by product of a world that is obsessed with perfection, cure and allergic to pain/grief/death. Don’t buy into it. That’s not what this archetype is about.

It’s about learning to live with the wounds that never heal. That’s the wisdom. That’s the kind of “healing” Chiron brings us.
