My name is Laura MacLean. My dad is Wayne MacLean, who was a student at Glencoe HS in the early 1970s.

Years ago, my dad told me a "dress-code" story about how, though girls were not allowed to wear blue jeans to school. One day they all did just that, and effectively put an end to the double-standard.

I absolutely loved this story as a child and to this day it remains my favourite example of local, collective action. I think it would make a great folk song, short story or play.

I'm writing to ask you if you remember this student "protest". Any more details?
