Yesterday we had the pleasure of having representatives from the North Blackfoot Program and Parks & Recreation join us for our first weekly Young-Guns Basketball Developmental program!
The pookaiks learned some important fundamentals and had a blast while doing it! Thank you to Lanny, Ira, Selena, and Harlee for taking the time to work with our young athletes!

Grade 5 & 6 Students Land Based Learning field trip. Omahka'kihtaksin - Majorville Medicine Wheel
Iikaaksiimapii - sacred place connected to the origin of the Blackfoot Sundance.

Today the students heard the Blackfoot story of Soowatsakii - Feather Woman and how this area is significant to our Blackfoot people by our Knowledge Keeper Hutch Sitting Eagle. The students offered to***co and said prayers for all our people at the site. Hutch also guided the students to the area where students if they were lucky would find an Iiniskim (Buffalonstone) and Thunderstone. Some students were very lucky. The experience was beautiful. Thank you Hutch for your guidance and sharing your knowledge today!

Akiipiskaan - Old Woman’s Buffalo Jump
Grade 5 & 6 Land Based Learning Field Trip

Students learned the use of the Old Woman’s Buffalo Jump. They heard a few stories from our Knowledge Keeper about Napi & the first marriages, Napi & the Kaniskiina-Mice. Students got to view what a Buffalo jump is.

The students had an enjoyable day learning about their Blackfoot ancestors and the land sites within Siksikaitsitapii - Blackfoot Territory.

1A learning all about pumpkins! 🎃🤗
We explored the lifecycle of a pumpkin, learned about the anatomy of a pumpkin, and kicked off our very own Pumpkin Jack science experiment! 🌱🎃
We’re excited to watch, observe, and document what happens as our Pumpkin Jack experiment unfolds. So much hands-on learning and discovery! 🔬👀🍂
