Our grade 7/8 boys grabbed the MVSD Championship title going undefeated at Divisionals today! Way to go boys! 🏐

Our grade 8 girls team had a great day at Divisionals snagging third place! 🐴 Great job ladies and coach!

Congratulations to our neighbours, Grandview, who brought home the grade 8 MVSD Divisional championship this year.
Hats off to all competing athletes on their showing at Divisionals. Some great talent in MVSD that we should be proud of, and grateful for such great coaches.

What a great day the GPE Boys had today. It was a GP vs GP final! The grade 7/8 boys went undefeated while the grade 6 boys team won 5 sets and dropped 3. Grade 6 boys won second and the 7/8’s brought home the gold medal!

Thanks to all our neighbouring communities that brought teams to our home tournament. It was a great event.

🏐 Our grade 6-8 Gilbert Plains boys are hosting their home volleyball tournament this Saturday at Gilbert Plains Elementary School! 🔔 Come cheer them on! 🥳

🥤 🌭 There is a fundraising canteen open to all athletes, families and fans! Taco in a bag, perogies, hot dogs, gatorades, chocolate milk, and baking are some of the items for sale!!

Gilbert Plains Elementary School Closure - For Monday, June 17th due to a power outage, Gilbert Plains Elementary School will be closed.

Division Closure - Thurs, Mar 7th, 2024 - Due to the conditions of continued snowfall, blowing snow and the current road closures in most of the Division, all MVSD schools and division facilities will be closed on Thurs, Mar 7th. Staff may work from home. https://scho.ca/n845422

Bus Cancellations - For Tues, Feb 27th, all MVSD buses are cancelled. Schools will be open; learning will occur for students who can attend safely & those at home are to check in to their classes via their online platform. https://scho.ca/n842133

Bileski Boot Camp was well under way last week, even with the no bus days! The snow storm didn’t stop some of the kids from getting up early and coming to work hard!

A huge thanks to Gilbert Plains Lions Club who donated $1000.00 to our school for PE equipment! Purchased was junior basketballs, basketballs, volleyball bags, volleyballs, volley Lites (junior), and dodgeballs.

It’s so hard to describe to anyone just how special this crew of kids and volleyball players are. Both of them participating in provincials was an irreplaceable experience, but watching them cheer each other on was indescribable. Especially the boys. They were the girls biggest fans, even being down 12-2 they never stopped cheering them on. Every single point they got louder and louder…Telling the girls to pick themselves up and dust themselves off. Not to get down. And just that they did. Boys, you just might be one of the main reasons these girls dug a little deeper to show this province what they’re made of!
