🏫 This year at GPCI, our students stayed active and competitive! 🏆
Students had the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports, including ⚽ soccer, 🏃 cross‑country running, 🏐 volleyball, ⛳ golf, 🥌 curling, 🏀 basketball, 🏒 hockey, 🏸 badminton, and 🏃♂️ track and field.
👏 We had teams advance to provincials in cross‑country running, volleyball, and badminton, and we are hopeful to send athletes in track and field as well. For a small school with only five teachers, GPCI students don’t miss out on much! 💪
📚 Being part of a sports team also supports academic success.
Athletics help students build strong ⏱️ time‑management skills, increase motivation and engagement, and develop discipline and a solid work ethic. Regular physical activity can also improve focus and cognitive skills 🧠. Team sports, in particular, encourage 🤝 communication and collaboration.
🌟 Overall, participation in athletics helps students develop habits and skills that contribute to academic performance and long‑term success.

🎓 Did you know GPCI students have more ways than ever to earn credits?
At GPCI, learning goes far beyond the classroom! Students can earn 30‑ and 40‑level credits by working with local employers or by completing 120 volunteer hours during high school.
Interested in the trades? Through our High School Apprenticeship Program, students can earn up to eight 40‑level credits while working with a Red Seal–accredited trade.
Grade 11 and 12 students can also explore hands-on learning through cross‑transportation courses in Grandview, including Woodworking, Power Mechanics, Furniture Design, and Construction.
We even offer asynchronous courses, giving students the flexibility to learn outside regular class time.
When these opportunities are combined with our strong in‑class offerings, GPCI students truly have every pathway open to them. 🌟
