Sea to Sky Outdoor School for Sustainability Education

Happy Earth Day! We hope you can get outdoors!

Sea to Sky Outdoor School is hiring! We are looking for an amazing staff member to join our Islander Team. Are you interested in working with a team of passionate, kind, collaborative, sustainability-minded educators in inspiring outdoor classrooms? Be in touch! We would love to hear from you.

-Our spring season runs mid-April to mid-June.
-Our site is at beautiful Camp Fircom on Gambier Island.
-A typical week runs Tuesday evening to Friday afternoon.
-Water taxis + room and board are covered during programs.
-There may be an opportunity to continue into summer and fall.
-Experience working with school-aged children in camps, schools, or other educational settings is a must (BEd is an asset but not required).
-Wilderness First Aid training is an asset.

Sea to Sky Outdoor School educators work in outdoor classrooms, supporting students to foster personal connections with the land, build ecological literacy, and learn about sustainability and resilience. Some valuable characteristics and skills for Islanders are:

-group facilitation skills,
-excellent communication and teamwork,
-modelling a 'less is more' philosophy,
-being indefatigable in all weather and having backcountry skills,
-being resourceful, adaptable and flexible,
-having positive energy and a good sense of humour.
