This year we are so excited to welcome back Madame Vetro “I am blessed to tell you that I have been part of the HHCS family for 30 years now! First, as a parent of 4, then as a teacher; I have taught a variety of subjects and grades but my passion is teaching Core French. (I knew from my first year of taking French in grade 7 that I wanted to become a French teacher!) I am always amazed by the willingness of students to participate in a variety of activities. I try to incorporate fun in the teaching, as I hope the children will enjoy learning a foreign language. I enjoy aquatic activities and am currently training to do a walk/jog for the CIBC Run For the Cure. I delight in walking my dog and cuddling my cat.

Our school counsellor, Ms. Alaina, has enjoyed a wonderful summer with her family. From helping lead church day camp, to paddling at Bon Echo, and camping with friends - it has been a wonderful summer!

On July 11, Mr. and Mrs. Amaral celebrated the wedding of their son Liam and Rachel. They even hosted the reception in their backyard!

As we get ready to welcome everyone back, our School Counsellor has a special message for our HHCS families!

Our final learning habit is: Find your Voice:

“Find Your Voice” is the 8th Habit that invites students to discover who God has created them to be. It’s about recognizing their unique gifts and asking how they can use their time, talents, and treasures to serve others and glorify God. Mrs. Baillargeon went to the IBBY (International Board of Books for Young People) World Congress in Ottawa! This congress happens every 2 years. Mrs. B. met people from all over the world in various fields of work related to children’s literature. Pictured here are some highlights- hearing author David A. Robertson speak, and a lovely chat with author-illustrator Barbara Reid. IBBY was an amazing opportunity to be surrounded by other people who believe so deeply in the power of books and stories.
