Who all had an AWESOME time this morning at our Touch A Truck event?! We did!! 🤩

A big special thank you to our community helpers from Gananoque Police Service, Gananoque Fire Service, Riverton Homes and Full Service Property Maintenance for bringing your vehicles and letting the children crawl though and explore them. There may also have been a couple horns honked as well! We all had a fantastic time! 🥰😎 🚒 🚓 🦺 🛻

Child Care United (Thousand Island Daycare Centre and Willow Tree Child Care Centre) is excited to say we will be hosting FOUR Summer Student Positions. We are very fortunate to have these exciting opportunities which are also partially supported by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant!

If you or someone you know are a dedicated and skilled individual that has a passion for working with children and youth in a supportive setting, we are looking for you! Common duties will include the supervision of children, facilitation of activities and games and program planning all while having a ton of fun.

The student positions will have the opportunity to learn and work alongside our knowledgeable staff, learning the skills needed to work in a licensed childcare centre, how to provide inquiry-based programming.

As a member of our team, we are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, loving, patient, creative individuals who promote security and self-confidence and are committed to quality care. The individuals must be professional, flexible, and have an ability to problem solve.

If you or anyone you know is interested in a fun and exciting experience working with children between the ages of 6 weeks to 4 years or 4 years to 12 years of age, please submit your resume to [email protected].

This position is a great opportunity for individuals pursuing Early Childhood Education, Community and Social Services Programs, Educational Programs, etc.

Positions are set to begin on June 26th and end August 25th, 2026

Approximately 37.5 – 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday)
Between $20.00 to $22.00 per hour

Stipulations for eligibility for the Canada Summer Jobs Grant position, applicants MUST be:
• Be between 18-30 years of age, at the start of the position
• Returning to school in the Fall
• Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.
• Have a valid SIN
• International students, and those who are here in Canada on a work, youth, or visitor visa/permit are not eligible for the program.

Fundraiser Alert!

Child Care United is hosting a Halenda's Pepperoni Stick Fundraiser!

This fundraiser will help our us raise funds for our programs and equipment enhancements!

These are a great idea just in time for Father's Day ;)

Orders are due by June 2, 2026, if you're interested please let us know!

The pepperoni sticks are made in Ontario using 100% Ontario pork. The ingredients are gluten-free and peanut-free. The facility they are made in is not certified as such though.

After participating in a series of fire drills with St Joseph’s School and Gananoque Fire Service, Deputy Chief Andrew Kent brought a fire truck over for the children to tour and check out. It’s always so exciting to check out the fire truck. 🚒 Thank you Deputy Chief Kent! 🚨 😀 🔥
