Shelagh Huston has been a Salish Sea islander since the 60s. She co-founded an island preschool in the 70s, spearheaded a successful defense of the Islands Trust in the 80s, worked as a consulting economist in Africa in the 90s, catalyzed the founding of the Gabriola Commons in the 2000s, and served as an Anglican deacon in the 2010s. She is dedicated to growing and sustaining deep community.

Living into the Earth Emergency is a nine-week course offering experiential learning and practice to address the urgent converging dangers of our time. While it will include video presentations and guest presenters, the focus will be on sharing our own state of being through active participation and conversation, helping each of us to feel heard, supported, and inspired.

The course is offered to the Gabriola community at no cost and will include a meal at each session. Donations will be accepted and volunteers are welcome.
