Two current staff members of The Aquinian, as well as former editors, were recognized Thursday night for their contributions to journalism at the Atlantic Journalism Awards.
Jacob Moore, Hannah Rudderham and Giuliana Grillo de Lambarri accepted awards for their contributions to student and professional journalism during a ceremony at St. Thomas University.

The documentary 𝘊𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘳𝘺: 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯, produced by former Canadian Olympian Phyllis Ellis, highlights the impact “s*x testing” has on female athletes and women of colour.

A St. Thomas University committee expects to announce in May whether or not it will revoke Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond’s honorary degree after recent allegations that she made false claims to Indigenous identity.
“To use that as a way to get honorary degrees, not just from STU but other institutions, takes the legitimacy away from actual Indigenous students and professionals,” said Jonah Simon, board of governors representative for the St. Thomas University Students’ Union.
