Join us Wed, Sep 23 at 12 p.m. for Michael Lukaszuk's Impossible Dust, a noon-hour concert of improvisations and original works blending modern classical, folk, and minimalism. Guitar, piano, and synths meet digital tools in the beautiful Memorial Hall auditorium. Tickets can be purchased in advance by appointment or at the door via cash or card. Our 2026–27 season is here. 🎶 Thirteen concerts at Memorial Hall, September through April.

From a noon-hour of guitar, piano and synthesizers to three nights of new music, two string quartets on one stage, a program of love songs, Black musical legacies in concert music, and our own Chorale and Concert Band.

Curated by Nadia Francavilla, Richard Hornsby, Michael Lukaszuk and Steven Peacock, the season brings together UNB musicians and professional performers from across the region.

First up: Michael Lukaszuk, Impossible Dust Wed, Sep 23 at 12 p.m.

Last call: registration for the UNB Chorale and UNB Concert Band closes Monday, Sept. 15.

Both ensembles are non-auditioned and open to students, staff and the wider community. One evening rehearsal a week at Memorial Hall, and a concert at the end of term.

If you have been thinking about it all summer, this is the week to decide.

UNB students: you can take Chorale or Concert Band for credit.

MUS 3005, MUS 3006 and MUS 3007 are each worth one credit hour and carry the experiential learning designation. Most students take all three across their degree, and they count toward the Music Minor, which is open to students in every faculty.

You rehearse one evening a week at Memorial Hall and finish the term with a concert. No audition required for either ensemble.

You will need permission from the Director of Music before registering, so email [email protected] to get that started.

You do not need to audition. You do not need to be a music student. You do not need to have played since high school.

The UNB Chorale and the UNB Concert Band are open to anyone in the Fredericton area who wants to sing or play, alongside UNB and STU students, faculty and staff. Our members range from people performing for decades to people dusting off an instrument for the first time in twenty years.

You rehearse one evening a week, you work through real repertoire, and the term ends with a concert on stage.
