Back by popular demand: The Free Store is back this October for Sustainability Month!

UNB Sustainability is excited to relaunch this highly anticipated initiative, offering students, faculty, and staff a chance to recirculate usable goods. Every single item is free of charge.

Throughout October, both campuses will be hosting Free Store events.

Forestry and Geology Building, Room 304
Every Wednesday from 10 a.m. โ€“ 1 p.m.
Every Thursday from 11 a.m. โ€“ 2 p.m.

We invite you to donate gently used items such as clothing, kitchenware, dรฉcor, and entertainment items or stop by to shop at no cost. By accepting unwanted items and redistributing them within our campus network, this initiative reduces landfill waste and actively supports a circular economy model here at UNB.

Please note that donations will only be accepted during store hours.

This workshop will examine how Islamophobia may impact students, staff, and faculty in post-secondary institutions, including how Muslim identities are affected by negative public discourse about their faith. Through case studies and practical strategies, participants will explore ways to disrupt Islamophobia and foster more inclusive and equitable learning and work environments.

What does it mean to report from one of the world's most significant ongoing conflicts?

Join us for the inaugural Stephen Smith Lecture, featuring Francis Farrell, frontline reporter with the Kyiv Independent, Ukraine's largest independent English-language media outlet.

Since 2022, Farrell has reported from Ukraine's front lines, documenting the realities of war, speaking with military leaders and analysts, and sharing the stories of those living through the conflict.

In his lecture, "Reporting Under Drone-Infested Skies: Stories from Ukraine's Front Line,"Farrell will discuss the evolving challenges of conflict journalism, the impact of drone warfare on frontline reporting, and his experiences covering life in wartime Ukraine.
