GUESS is going to be hosting the Great Welcome Back Meet and Greet teams meeting sometime in the next week. This will be an informal gathering where we can say hi to new students, see returning students after the summer and just generally hang out.
See the poll on the GGE Family team to give your input of the best time to meet!
GGEers new and returning, I am sure you have questions about the coming year. Be sure to bring those questions to the Teams meeting this evening with Dr Kingdon, Dr Dare, Michelle, and GUESS!
A link to the meeting was sent out last Friday by Dr Kingdon. Even if you just want to say hi, come on by! The meeting will run from 8:00PM Atlantic to about 9:30PM Atlantic.

Lifejackets not required!
Yesterday saw the first outdoor test of the departments new Seafloor Systems EchoBoat! Once it is up and running this little autonomous surface vessel will allow for sonar surveys to be carried out in spots too tight for a full sized boat, all from the comfort of dry land.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project and other projects on the go in the department!

From everyone on this years GUESS board we welcome you back to the new school year!
This year is going to be a bit different, there is no getting around that. We are working hard though to keep the GGE community strong. We have lots of fun events in the works!
If you are new this year, Welcome! If you are returning for another year, Welcome Back! And if you are taking a year off, we will see you soon.
Don't forget to attend Tuesday's Teams meeting for new students, or Wednesday's meeting for returning students. You can find the link in your email.
