🚀Thursday, Oct. 15 at 4pm (Headhall rm C9) - Dr. Attila Komjathy of NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory will share "GDGPS: Advancing Real-Time Multi-Constellation Ionospheric Research and Space Weather Monitoring" - as part of the Faculty of Engineering's Distinguished Lecture series.

🛰️Friday, Oct. 16 at 3 pm (Headhall rm C10) - Dr. Sunil Bisnath from the Department of Earth and Space Science and Engineering at York University will share "Exploring recent developments in GNSS from the perspective of the GPS World Evolution column”

Each week we will meet to either walk, run or jog together about 3km! We finish off at Picaroons:)

National Geomatics Competition preliminary applications are now open!🌎🛰️

What is NGC? It’s a student led consulting engineering competition in the field of Geomatics. The competition was founded by GGE students at UNB in 2018! Now hosted all around Canada at different institutes.

NGC will be hosted at SAIT in Calgary this year on February 3-7th, 2027.

⚠️First GGE event of the year⚠️

Join GUESS at The Drome (301 Main St, Fredericton) for bowling!! 🎳

From 6-8pm on Friday, September 18th stop by for our first event of the year! Feel free to bring a plus one as well😁

Also, afterwards we will be heading over to Trailway Brewing Co. (280 Main St, Fredericton) to cap off the night!

🚀The summer 2026 issue of UNB's Alumni News magazine featured an article on the efforts of GGE's Professor Richard Langley and his colleagues to track the Integrity spacecraft during the Artemis II moon mission: https://www.unb.ca/alumni/news/magazine/2026-summer/index.html

As stated in the article, "NASA selected UNB as one of only three Canadian contributors helping to track Integrity during its approximately 10-day mission around the moon. Of the three Canadian potential contributors, UNB was the only Canadian university involved."

📡The article mentions that “On Saturday, April 4, at the UNB Earth Station, Megan MacDonald [an Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate student] and [ECE's Professor Brent Petersen] were able to detect the radio frequency transmission of Integrity at 08:12 Coordinated Universal Time.”
