With last week's snow storm, the Creek Village Gallery reception with myself and Amanda Trizna as artisan and artist of the month was postponed until Tuesday, Feb 16th! Same bat-time, same bat-channel ;)

Potentially holding another weekend session of all 4 classes on February 20-21 (10am-5pm each day). We had a great time a couple of weeks ago and we're just gauging interest to see if this is another good weekend to work with!!

Learn the basics of metalsmithing in our equipped studio!
This class is designed for the beginner! You will learn the basics of jewellery metalsmithing, such as texturing, cutting, drilling, filing, forming, soldering, riveting, sanding and polishing! After four evenings (or two full days) in the studio, you will bring home approx. 3 finished pieces PLUS a sterling silver band ring! All material is included: copper, bronze and sterling silver will be used to create beautiful custom made jewellery!
$200 (materials included) Min 2 students, Max 4
The class consists of 4 sessions of 3 hours each and ALL supplies are included for the class fee.
** Please note, you must arrive 25 minutes before your first class for a safety orientation OR book another time ahead of your class to do it.
Message to reserve a time slot or for other scheduling options - classes can be taken one 3 hour class at a time but must be taken in order (I, II, III, IV) as we build on previously learned skills in each.

** Wax Carving Class Dates Set **
There are 2 spaces left in the next offering of our wax carving classes with Kristianne of Unforgotten Metal Art!
The cost of the class is $150 which includes instruction, wax and use of tools. Each student will pay the cost for their own piece to be cast when we send them out to the casting company (typically $25 or so, depending on size).
This is an 18 hour class over 6 evenings (6-9pm):

Wax Carving Techniques

Evening and weekend options available - this class will be booked based on interest and availability of students!

Taught by Kristianne of Unforgotten Metal Art, this class is designed to give you the basics in wax carving techniques. You will be carving a ring and different items of your choice out of wax, and after these items are sent out for casting, they will return to you in the metal of your choice ready to be finished in the studio! This is a great introduction to an inexpensive way of creating one of a kind models right from home without the need of a fully equipped studio!
The 6 class session is $150, 18 hours total
Wax is included, students will purchase materials of their choice for the casting of their wax models. (Please note we send the work away to be cast in sterling silver, additional shipping and metal casting fees apply)

Looking forward to the W.W. Boyce Farmers' Market - Sunday Christmas Markets again this year! Be there or be square ;)
Sarah Smith-Stewart of The Beadnik / Beadnik's Metal Arts Studio will be attending the markets on Dec 13th and 20th with an ecclectic collection of jewellery. From resin to crystal, hand crafted acrylic to metal work, there is sure to be something to please anyone on your list!
