Visit your local New Brunswick public library from September 11th to September 19th to obtain a limited-time pass for 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗬 to Kings Landing! With a valid library card and a pass, you will be granted a single entry into the Village from Septmber 13 to 19.

🏡 Have you noticed the changes at the Thomas Williams House?
Over the past year, this beloved heritage gem has undergone an extensive restoration project, blending essential structural improvements with historically accurate features that honour its past: from a cedar shingle roof in its authentic grey tone to the return of the iconic white picket fence featured in this 1892 image of the property.
👏 We're incredibly grateful to the talented team whose craftsmanship and care made this restoration possible.

Miramichi River

The “Chatham Bridge,” as it was called, crossed the Miramichi River from Douglastown on the Newcastle side to Chatham, before the two towns merged to become Miramichi.

It is called the Centennial Bridge, and its construction was completed in 1967, the year of the centennial of Canadian Confederation.

La Fête nationale de l’Acadie celebrates the enduring language, customs and culture of generations of Acadians who have shaped this region.
This detailed 1749 map of Acadie was published by the Robert de Vaugondys (brothers Gilles and Didier), among the most highly respected cartographers of 18th-century France. Their maps drew upon the most current and reliable geographic information available in Paris.
More than 275 years later, this map offers a fascinating glimpse of how Acadie was represented during a pivotal period in its history – and of a place where Acadian identity continues to thrive today.

Demain, le public est invité à souligner la Fête nationale de l’Acadie à la Résidence du gouverneur.

Les activités incluent un zoo pour enfants, des lectures de contes et des collations de 10 h 15 à 11 h 45. Une cérémonie de lever du drapeau acadien aura lieu à 11 h.

Cette fête familiale en plein air est gratuite et ouverte à toutes les personnes, surtout les enfants. Nous avons hâte de vous accueillir en grand nombre!

Tomorrow, the public is invited to celebrate National Acadian Day at Government House.

Activities include a petting zoo, storytelling, and refreshments from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. An Acadian flag-raising ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m.

This outdoor family celebration is free and open to everyone, especially children. We look forward to welcoming you on the grounds of Government House!

Come visit us at the Garrison Night Market on August 13th! Every Thursday, we focus on a specific theme relating to Fredericton’s history and exhibits in the museum. This week, our table is focusing on promoting National Acadian Day, and Fredericton's Acadian heritage. Join us this Thursday evening at the Garrison Nigh Market to discuss our Acadian History. We’ll be offering a new Museum Quest on this theme, and the first 30 people to complete the Quest will receive a free commemorative cap badge pin. Museum admission is required to participate in the Quest, but during the market, it is half-price admission to the museum! We hope to see you at the Garrison Night Market this Thursday, August 13th, from 4:30 - 7pm.
