What a beautiful summer we’ve had at FMA!

We’ve loved watching our Casa children explore, try new things, follow their interests, and make so many great memories with their friends. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence, independence, and curiosity grow throughout the summer.

We can’t wait to see everyone again in the fall!

What a fantastic day of fun, teamwork, and community at our annual Upper Elementary soccer baseball game yesterday! This year, the students took home the win against the parents! It was wonderful to see such incredible sportsmanship and encouragement from everyone involved, truly the Montessori spirit in action. A big thank you to Mr. Robbie for getting the students prepped and ready for the game. Great job, Upper Elementary!

What an amazing Teddy Bear Picnic we had with our Casa students and their families. Our 5 year olds planned the entire event. From creating signs to baking cookies, they were at the top of their game and took pride in every step! Thank you to our Casa staff who supported our students in putting on a very lovely event! A special shout out to Ms. Hannah’s mom who came in to lend a helping hand.

Today, our Casa students visited the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and enjoyed a beautiful morning exploring art through their five senses.
The children imagined sounds, discovered textures, shared observations, and connected deeply with the artwork around them. Experiences like these remind us how meaningful learning can be when children are given the opportunity to explore the world with curiosity and wonder.

Today, our Upper Elementary students participated in a mock election to make their predictions for our municipal election. Each student cast a vote for who they think will win mayor and city council!
Our Election Officers, Teddy and Rylan, took their roles very seriously and did an amazing job helping run the election process. A big shoutout to Elections Canada and the Parliament of Canada for providing us with these fantastic resources and helping bring civics learning to life in our classroom! We fully recognize that we don’t need a particular day or week to recognize the phenomenal staff that we have at our school.
