The Student Accessibility Centre is seeking three students to serve in the Accessibility Programming Facilitator and Accessibility Experiential Learning Assistant roles.

The Accessibility Programming Facilitator role is for a 20-week position with two positions available.

The Accessibility Experiential Learning Assistant is for an 8-week position with one position available.

Accessibility Programming Facilitator JOB DETAILS:
- Develop outlines for scheduled events including agendas, timelines, and required supplies
- Lead events and activities planned for Fall 2026
- Complete set-up and tear-down for each activity
- Provide feedback on successes and areas to improve for each event
- Design clear and accessible social media posts about upcoming programming events
- Summarize insights on successful and popular activities from Fall 2026
- Consider and reflect on feedback to make changes to events to best support student needs
- Assist in building the Winter 2027 programming calendar
- Continue facilitation duties as described for Fall

Accessibility Programming Facilitator JOB DETAILS:
- Support the development of accessible resources and presentations that increase student access to co-op, internship, and work-placement opportunities
- Provide valuable research and feedback that informs service planning and program improvements
- Strengthen relationships between Student Accessibility Services, academic faculties, and experiential learning partners
- Help identify best practices and innovative approaches used by other institutions
- Contribute to creating a more accessible and supportive environment where students with disabilities can fully participate in experiential learning opportunities and achieve their academic and career goals

Hi! I’m Joel Couture, the new Assistive Technologist at the SAC. After spending five years working with post-secondary students and adults in the workforce with the Neil Squire Society, I’m happy to be here helping you find tools that will assist you in playing to your strengths in-class or help you get through challenging academic tasks.

Whether you need to use your voice to type a paper, want help cutting down on distractions using tech, if you wish you could listen to your textbooks being read aloud, or need assistance applying for your Canada Student Grant applications, please reach out to me at [email protected].

Student Affairs & Services is looking for student panelists for its Professional Development Day.

GENERAL INFO:
• This event will be hosted by UNB’s Student Affairs & Services (SAS).
• The SAS is looking for up to 5 students from UNBF and UNBSJ to participate in an upcoming VIRTUAL panel discussion.
• We are hoping for a variety of programs, disabilities, year, and level (grad and undergrad) amongst interested students.
• Questions will be provided in advance to participants and an honorarium paid.
• Topics will focus on the student lived experience surrounding accessibility in using student services.

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:
• Identify as a disabled student at UNB (disclosure of disability diagnosis will never be required for the event).
• Have used at least three (3) Student Affairs & Services supports:
• Be comfortable speaking in front of a large group (approximately 80 people).
• Review panel questions ahead of the event (notes or prepared statements are welcome).
• Keep answers concise, up to 5 minutes maximum to allow other panelists to share.
• Willingness to consider and answer questions from the audience.
• Be available from 9-11am on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026.

Disability is often viewed negatively and we want to continue dismantling that. We encourage you to be proud of your identity, your strengths, and your community and hope to make the invisible, visible by literally passing the mic to students to share their voice.

We have 5 amazing panelists who will share their lived experience as disabled students on campus.

Panelists are from a variety of degree programs, years of study, and disability types. They bring a wealth of perspective and are open to sharing insights that might just challenge what you think about accessibility and disability.

A question-and-answer period will follow to encourage continued, respectful dialogue and engagement with audience members.

All welcome! This event is open to all students, staff, faculty, and community members at no cost.

Participant questions will be provided on-screen and in the chat. Closed captioning will be active during the webinar. Participants may use the Q&A or chat function for typed questions, or they may ask questions aloud. Please use the raise hand feature and keep mics muted for auditory clarity. Cameras can be on or off at your discretion.
