In partnership with Opportunities NB, we announce our ongoing investment in the Climate Impact Fund to support New Brunswick’s transition to a green economy.

The $2 million investment will support both the adaptation and implementation of cleantech solutions and the development of new climate mitigation and greenhouse gas reduction technologies. With this fund, we envision a far-reaching impact across the entire spectrum of the province’s research and development, innovation, and startup community.

Innovators from across our province have been pushing boundaries, opening doors, creating employment opportunities and putting New Brunswick on the map across all sectors; and this is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on them and their work.

We encourage New Brunswickers to nominate innovators in all sectors and from all corners of our province for these awards. We look forward to celebrating them on Thursday, October 12th in Fredericton, where the winners and their work will be honoured in a unique and creative manner.

Our Equipment Fund is officially open for submissions! The fund aims to increase the province’s applied research capacity by supporting the purchase of equipment. We’ve made some improvements to the funding program based on helpful feedback we received from people in the ecosystem. The submission deadline is August 10th, we look forward to reviewing your applications.

Last week, three members of our NBIF team had the honour of attending and sponsoring the CVCA Annual Meeting, Invest Canada ’23, in Vancouver. We cultivated new relationships and explored opportunities to boost venture capital investment for NB companies. The industry's national reach and maturity hold the key to driving solutions for Canada's pressing climate and economic challenges while propelling economic growth.

Last night, NBIF proudly sponsored and attended the 2023 NB Export Awards, celebrating the outstanding achievements of New Brunswick's exporters. Congratulations to all the finalists and award winners, including two of our portfolio companies, Chinova Bioworks and Passiv. We're thrilled to support their success and the growth of our province's export industry.
