Strong healthcare systems begin with strong educational pathways.
Yorkville University’s acquisition of Beal University Canada, subject to applicable regulatory approvals, conditional designation requirements, and other closing conditions, reflects a commitment to supporting nursing education in New Brunswick for the long term — maintaining program quality today while building capacity for tomorrow.
We are proud to support:
• Students pursuing meaningful healthcare careers
• Faculty and staff delivering exceptional education
• Communities that rely on a growing healthcare workforce
More updates will be shared as the regulatory process progresses.

Sometimes, the next chapter begins with a simple question: How can I do more?
For Michelle Matin, Yorkville University MACP alumni, that question became the catalyst for a journey from educational leadership into counselling.
When Michelle stepped into her role as Vice Principal during the COVID-19 pandemic, she found herself supporting not only students, but educators, families and entire school communities through unprecedented stress and uncertainty. She knew she wanted to do more to support the emotional and psychological wellbeing of the people she served.
So, she went back to school.
What she discovered was more than a new set of clinical skills. She rediscovered her love of learning, built meaningful connections with classmates that grew into lasting friendships, and developed a deeper curiosity about the research and evidence behind counselling practice.
Now, as a practising counsellor, Michelle is bringing those two worlds together. Education and mental health, with a goal of helping people feel seen, heard and supported.
And while graduation marked the end of her MACP journey, for Michelle, it was really the beginning of something new.
The proud moment? Hearing her son call out, "That's my mom!" as she walked across the stage.

For 25 years, Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) student Yollanda Zhang lived with bipolar disorder largely in silence.
Now, she's sharing her story in Out of Darkness, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre's documentary series exploring the lived experience of bipolar disorder.
Her decision to speak openly marks a powerful shift from silence to advocacy. Alongside the documentary, she's also writing a book and using her lived experience to help reduce stigma and encourage more open conversations about mental health.
Yollanda's story is a reminder that vulnerability has the power to create connection—and that sharing our experiences can help others feel seen, understood, and less alone.
