Some of the hardest parts of parenting aren’t the big things...they’re the everyday logistics. ❤️

Getting kids to extracurricular activities after work, during supper hour, and in the middle of precious family time can be a lot.

From the day we built ECLA, one of our goals has been to look at the pain points families face and ask: How can we make this easier?

That’s why we’re so excited about creating opportunities for our students to participate in really cool extracurricular experiences during the school day & with transportation provided by ECLA.

For working families, we think this is a huge win.

And as a mama of four, I know just how precious those supper hours and evenings at home can be. If we can give our students amazing experiences while also giving families a little more of that time back, that feels pretty special.

And we have another one coming! 👀

We are beyond proud of three of our incredible students who proudly represented ECLA at the 2026 Canada National Super Spelling Bee in Ottawa, where 181 of Canada's top young spellers competed for the national title on July 18th, 2026. 🇨🇦

We can't wait to share what's coming this fall as we continue connecting our students with outstanding mentors like Sarah Hilworth, Head Coach of the UNB REDS Women's Hockey Team. Place-based learning is at the heart of ECLA, and we're committed to surrounding our students with the very best leaders and experts our community has to offer. Stay tuned!

After School Club Ideas?!

We're planning an exciting lineup of once-a-week after-school classes for both our elementary and middle school students, and we're looking for programs that are a little outside the box!

We're hoping to connect with creative local organizations, businesses, artists, makers, entrepreneurs, and community experts who could offer hour-long classes over a 6–10 week series. Whether we come to you or you come to us, we're open to exploring all kinds of possibilities!

Do you know of a unique experience that would inspire kids? Or a local organization that would be a great fit?

I often get asked why I started another business when Go-Go was already more than a full-time job.

The answer is simple.

I did it for my daughters.

I wasn't looking to start a school. I was looking for a place where my girls would be safe, known, challenged, and inspired by exceptional educators and where they would wake up excited to go to school each day.

When I couldn't find that place in Fredericton, I set out to build it. I sought out some of the brightest minds and mentors in education from around the world, and together we created the kind of learning environment I had dreamed of for my daughters.

That has always been my why.

I never take for granted how fortunate I was to be able to do that. What breaks my heart is knowing that so many families don't have that same opportunity. That simply isn't fair.

Watching interviews like this and reading about declining student achievement reminds me why this conversation matters so much. Every time I hear about another education strategy or another 10-year plan, I can't help but think about my own daughters. They didn't have 10 years to wait for transformational change in our education system. By then, they would have been out of school. Neither do the thousands of children sitting in classrooms across our province today.

This conversation should be an urgent concern for every parent, educator, policymaker, and community member in New Brunswick. Behind every statistic is a child whose future depends on the decisions we make today.

This isn't about public versus private education, and it certainly isn't about the incredible educators who show up every day and give so much to their students. It's about acknowledging that every child learns differently, and families deserve more than one educational option.

I know ECLA isn't the answer for every family, and I recognize that many families may not have the means to choose an independent school. That is exactly why this conversation matters.

Together, we need to advocate for greater funding for educational choice in New Brunswick. We need to encourage innovation, support a wider range of learning opportunities including independent schools and alternative learning models and give families meaningful options to choose the environment where their child can thrive.

Our children can't wait another decade for change.

They deserve better, and they deserve it now.
