✅ Lincoln Road opened this week! The project included the replacement of water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer mains. Residents can now enjoy a newly paved street with a sidewalk extension.

❌ St. Mary’s Street closure will expand into the intersection at Maple Street. Transit stops will be affected. This closure will remain in place until mid-October. View the detour here: www.fredericton.ca/stmarysstreet

🚧 Golf Club Road, Crocket Street and the Cliffe Street–Brown Boulevard Roundabout are all approaching the final few weeks of construction. Stay tuned for updates and opening dates!

🚦 Riverside Drive: We hear you. Our team is aware of concerns with traffic signal timing along Riverside Drive and is working to make adjustments to help improve traffic flow.

🚧 Westmorland Street reminder: All access to and from the Westmorland Street Bridge from Queen Street remains closed. Vehicles are required to use the Smythe/Regent ramps to enter and exit the bridge. Through traffic remains open on Queen Street. Businesses remain open in the area. Some new detours and traffic changes are starting next week. Check out this week’s construction update below:

❌ Due to Acadian Day celebrations on Saturday, August 15, Carleton Street at Queen Street will be closed.

🚧 Starting Monday, August 17, Westmorland Street will move into Phase 2. All access to and off the Westmorland Street Bridge from Queen Street will be closed. Vehicles will be required to use Smythe/Regent ramps to enter and exit from the bridge. Through traffic will remain open on Queen Street. See the detour here: www.fredericton.ca/westmorlandstreet.

❌ Starting Monday, August 17, there will be a one-lane closure near 641 Brookside Drive for approximately one week due to private development.

❌ On Sunday, August 16, Festival of Chariots will be holding a rolling parade from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, travelling from Queen Street to the Exhibition Grounds.

🚧 Work on the Union Street outfall begins Monday, August 17. During construction, the Northside Trail will be closed from Babbitt Street to Giant Tiger. There are no road impacts at this time, as most work will take place off-street. Work is expected to be completed by mid-October.

Welcome to your weekly construction update! There’s a lot happening across Fredericton this week, check out the latest construction updates:

🚧 Westmorland Street closure begins Monday, July 13. Phase 1 is between King and Queen Street - both intersections remain open until mid-August, followed by a shift in traffic impacts as the next phase begins through October. These essential upgrades include replacing aging storm and sanitary sewer mains, along with public realm improvements. 👷 Riverside Drive Phase 4 mobilization begins next week. A single-lane closure with alternating traffic signals is expected to begin toward the end of July and remain in place until November. Plan ahead and allow extra travel time. Learn more here: www.fredericton.ca/riversidedrive

🌈 The Fredericton Pride Parade is this Saturday, July 11! The parade begins at 12:00 PM on Carleton Street near the Fredericton Public Library. Rolling road closures will be in place along Carleton, York, King, and Queen Streets as the parade moves through the downtown.

❌ King Street, between Carleton Street and Regent Street, will be closed on Wednesday, July 15, from approximately 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Access to Barker House Lane will remain available from Regent Street, and access to the parking lot east of the NB Power Building will be maintained from Carleton Street.

👷 St. Mary’s Street (Union Street to Maple Street) is now closed. The trail remains open, but users are reminded to use caution while navigating the active construction area. View the road detour map: www.fredericton.ca/stmarysstreet

✅ Valley Trail embankment restoration work is complete! These improvements will help enhance long-term trail safety, reliability, and accessibility for all users.

🚥 Cliffe Street and Brown Boulevard Roundabout work continues. Please slow down and use caution in the school zone. Some tree clearing is underway in preparation for the storm attenuation pond.

Introducing Fredericton's new Deputy Mayor Ruth Breen!

The Ward 9 City Councillor was appointed as Deputy Mayor at Fredericton’s City Council meeting Monday night. She will serve as Deputy Mayor for a two-year term ending in June 2028.

This is Breen’s second term on Fredericton City Council; she was first elected in 2021 and, in that time, served as Chair of the City’s Livable Community Committee from May 2024 until May 2026.
During this meeting, new standing committee chairs and members were announced.

Both sessions will begin with a short presentation on the draft documents, followed by a curated discussion where residents are encouraged to share feedback. Both sessions will present the same information.

It's time for your weekly construction update! Many projects are well underway. Here is what’s new next week:

🛠 Work on Northumberland Street will be moving into the intersection of Argyle Street next week. Residents on the 100 block of Argyle Street will exit by turning right onto Northumberland.

🚗 St. Mary’s Street will be reduced to one lane on Monday, June 8 for work on a pedestrian trail crossing with activated flashing lights. Flaggers will be on site to manage traffic.

🏗️ Regent Street will experience intermittent closures on Tuesday, June 9 between George Street and Brunswick Street to accommodate the installation of an overhead sign. Drivers are advised that there may be delays and it is recommended to take alternative routes.

🚧 Paving and milling work next week:
- Lincoln Road (Vanier Industrial to Adams)
- Brunswick Street (Northumberland to York)
- Royal Road (from civic #700 to #895)
- Fulton Avenue (from Maple to Pugh and Sierra to Douglas)
